Do you have Canon Vixia HF R100 camera that capture videos in HD 1920×1080 and output .mts videos? You may want to edit the .mts files on Window Movie Maker. But Windows Movie Maker does not support importing .mts videos. You can convert Canon Vixia HF R100 .mts to .wmv for Windows Movie Maker. However, you shall pay attention to the conversion settings, and make sure the codec work on your PC. Otherwise, you may get .wmv files imported to Window Movie Maker with blank screen, or only the audio plays in Windows Media Player.
I would recommend you to use Doremisoft Video Converter as the Canon HF R100 MTS to Movie Maker converter for you to easily edit 1920×1080 MTS videos on Windows Movie Maker. You can export Windows Media file (.wmv) for Windows Movie Maker and Windows Media Player.
PS: Canon Vixia HF R100 Camcorder Review
If you’re looking to shoot great HD video on the cheap, keep looking; the Canon Vixia HF R series delivers decent video at best, even for its modest price. But for a low-priced model with mic and headphone jacks, the HF R100 is a pretty good deal.
There’s a lot to like about Canon’s entry-level Vixia HF R series of “high-definition” camcorders, such as its user interface–which is better than that of its more expensive sibling–and its mic and headphone jacks, which are a rare find in this camera class. But these models give me flashbacks to the early days of HD when everyone was taking old, relatively low-resolution sensors and up converting from 1,440×1,080-pixel resolution, either in software or in hardware, to real HD 1,920×1,080-pixel resolution.
